Ezé is a multifaceted Black artist from Burkina Faso celebrating his migration background. Born in Ouagadougou, Ezékiel Wendtoin Nikiema, aka Ezé, only became Black in Germany. He does not mean his skin color but the political dimension of being Black in Germany. The award-winning artist empowers himself with his music in a society where Black Africans are put into many boxes from which he breaks out powerfully. With his new DIY album »Schwarz wurde Ich«, he once again becomes a bridge builder between people and does not hold back: without hiding from painful topics, he writes about personal experiences full of punchlines, clarity, and sometimes humorous irony. His fourth album is Ezé's most political and personal album so far. It also opens a new musical chapter. Rhythmatically, »Schwarz wurde Ich« returns to Afro roots. Dynamic and danceable sounds kiss the heart of cosmopolitanism and are mainly inspired by Afro-beats, Afro-trap, Amapiano, Drill, and West African vibes. Ezé mainly sings and raps in German about racism, flight and migration, climate crisis, masculinity, and vulnerability. The post-migrant album will be multilingual as usual.
