Description

The Musikkollegium Winterthur repeatedly invites Swiss partner orchestras to Winterthur. In recent years, the orchestra of the Zurich University of the Arts ZHdK, the Swiss Orchestra, or the St. Gallen Symphony Orchestra have been guests. Now, for the first time, the argovia philharmonic is coming to the Eulach. Founded in 1963 as the "Aargau Symphony Orchestra," it is the most important sound body in the cultural canton of Aargau and belongs to the circle of professional orchestras in Switzerland. Since October 2021, it has had its own concert hall for the first time with the Alte Reithalle Aarau. However, the orchestra does not limit its performances to the cantonal capital but regularly plays in Baden, Muri, Rheinfelden, Zofingen, or Lenzburg.

Since the 2025/26 season, the Spaniard Josep Vicent has been the chief conductor of the orchestra. He also brings a calling card from his homeland to Winterthur with "El amor brujo." For an authentic interpretation, Ginesa Ortega as a flamenco singer and flamenco dancer David Romero will ensure this. Proud feelings are also evoked by Ludwig van Beethoven in his "Eroica," which he composed "in memory of a great man" after he destroyed the original dedication to Napoleon Bonaparte in disappointment.

The Musikkollegium Winterthur presents the argovia philharmonic for the first time at the Stadthaus Winterthur. The concert includes Manuel de Falla's "El amor brujo" with flamenco elements as well as Beethoven's "Eroica." The Spanish conductor Josep Vicent is on the podium.
