Usually, near such trees and places of power, or in the surrounding area, traces of earlier cultures and testimonies from long past times can be found. Our Celtic and indigenous ancestors already knew the significance of trees and places of power and made use of their energy.

During the hike, you will learn a lot about the different types of trees and their meanings. You will learn how each tree has a unique story and what healing powers it possesses. You will gain insights into mythology, customs, and wisdom of the various effective, sacred trees of the Celts and Indo-European peoples. This hike not only leads us to places of power but also to beautiful, intoxicating, and admirable viewpoints!

Starting point: Soulness-Stübli
Our adventure begins at Soulness-Stübli, from where we hike together towards the Linner Linden tree.

Linner Linden
At the Linner Linden, we pause to enjoy its unique power. This impressive linden enchants us with its heavenly floral scent and radiates harmony and joy of life. The linden, often revered as the tree of midsummer ecstasy, is dedicated to the love goddess Freya. Celebrated in folk songs and poems in many places, it also has numerous stories to tell. Let yourself be surprised!

Onwards: On unknown paths
Here we encounter the birch, which stands for youth, innocence, and new beginnings. This bright, cleansing tree is associated with the goddess Brigit or Birgit, who brings lightness and flow in spring.

The gnarled oak
Another extraordinary power tree on this hike is an ancient, strong oak. This oak, estimated to be about 500 years old, symbolizes steadfastness, honesty, justice, and paternal wisdom. During a rest under its mighty branches, I will tell you stories about its significance as a court tree and its use for wine barrels, among many other things.

The significance of the beech
The beech played an important role in Celtic culture and was associated with various symbolic and practical meanings.

Wisdom and knowledge - The Celts saw the beech as a tree of wisdom and knowledge. Beech wood was often used for writing tablets, which earned it the reputation of a "book tree." In fact, the word "book" probably derives from the word "beech."
