They notice that they can no longer leave the place. In this hopeless situation, the abysses of life come to the fore. The actors ask themselves what might still be waiting for them outside. Because AI is conquering the world and seems to make no stop even at the gates of Hollywood. Digital doubles, algorithmic rejuvenation, and the revival of deceased film stars are already changing the future of acting and storytelling. Are these digital "angels" saviors or messengers of doom? Against the backdrop of this contemporary phenomenon, Jonas Bernetta's "Angel of Destruction" adapts the plot of Luis Buñuel's surrealist film classic "The Wurge Angel" (1962) for the stage, a radical confrontation with societal taboos and the illusion of human control. Using a mix of acting, live camera, digital avatars, artificial intelligence, and immersive sound design, Jonas Bernetta and his team transform the stage into a mysterious parallel world. The audience becomes part of a fascinating multimedia experiment, where the four actors play with great skill for their existence – until the boundaries between reality and fiction dissolve.
