She looks back angrily at the pain points of her female biography: marriage, childbirth obligation, beauty cult, emancipation attempts. Shamefully she admits: "Not caring about politics is a privilege." Elisabeth never thought about giving up her privileges, never refrained from traveling wherever she wanted; escaping whenever she wanted; wasting as much money as she wanted on travel, clothing, and servants. In the end, she stands alone before the naked truth: a woman is only free when all women are free. "Elisabeth" reveals in ten "drill exercises" the systemic sexism that runs through white, patriarchal, and aristocratic societies. Mareike Fallwickl, author of the feminist novel "The Anger That Remains" (2022), has written a captivating monologue that bridges the first women's movement to feminism today.
