It is still quiet in Hamburg Harbor. As floating ambassadors of the city, we welcome visiting ships from around the world, who will celebrate the 838th Port Anniversary Hamburg together with us. With the Elbphilharmonie behind us, we pass the busy St. Pauli Landungsbrücken and leave the impressive docks of Blohm+Voss on the port side. Passing the first Elbe beaches in Övelgönne and Teufelsbrück, we enjoy a fantastic view of the unique Elbe slopes of Blankenese on the starboard side. We initiate the turn maneuver on the Elbe and head back to our home port. We are accompanied by an impressive variety of ships: from navy ships and cruise ships, barges and sailing ships with one, two, three, or even four masts, cog ships, fire ships, and Börte boats to motor yachts and rowboats. Whether small, medium-sized, or huge, historic or modern, under sail or with motor, almost everything that moves on water is part of the arrival parade. Together, we return to our mooring at Überseebrücke. There, we are already expected by thousands of spectators who cheer us and celebrate the world's largest port festival with us. Experience ship technology live: During the entire trip, the Cap San Diego can be visited at all stations, and every maneuver can be experienced up close in the engine room and on the bridge. Our volunteer crew is available for all questions and is always up for a maritime chat. A very special experience awaits you in the impressive engine room: During the trip, you can see the fascinating technology in operation live. The CAP SAN DIEGO is unique worldwide: nowhere else is there a larger, still seaworthy museum ship of this class from the era of breakbulk carriers. The actual sailing and docking times depend on ship and port traffic as well as nautical conditions and may change at short notice. Please plan sufficient flexibility. Schedule: Boarding from 09:00, departure Hamburg (Überseebrücke) at 10:00, docking Hamburg (Überseebrücke) around 18:00. Services: Welcome snack 9:00 - 10:30, lunch (one plate dish) 12:00 - 14:00, coffee and tea, cake 15:00 - 16:00, access to all stations, exhibitions in the hatches, travel moderation, live music.
