Description

A story of love and transformation told by William Shakespeare in his comedy "A Midsummer Night's Dream." The paths and missteps of Eros are intertwined in several plotlines, inevitably leading to confusion, misunderstandings, and hilarious scenes. Ballet director Cathy Marston and designer Richard Hudson set their "Midsummer Night's Dream" on an aging, abandoned fairground. A counterpoint to the famous theatrical music by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy is Gabriel Prokofiev's "Concerto for Turntables and Orchestra No. 1." Robert Houssart, conducting the Zurich Opera Orchestra, receives competent support from the trendy British DJ Mr. Switch.
