Description

A village near Munich, late 1990s. Heidi grows up in a world where obedience is more important than her own thoughts. Right-wing extremist ideologies shape her everyday life – at home, in holiday camps, and later in the neo-Nazi scene. There she finds community, orientation. But the deeper she immerses herself, the greater her doubts become. Can she detach herself from a world that defines her identity? Based on an autobiographical escapee novel, Nazli Saremi tells the story as a solo piece for the Junge Landestheater Tübingen. The production shows in a close and intense way how radicalization works – and how much courage it takes to free oneself from it. The production invites reflection on identity, extremism, and democracy. An evening of theater about belonging, manipulation, and self-determination. Based on the autobiographical book of the same name by Heidi Benneckenstein.
