EDIS

Description

EDIS: Turkish pop star live in Zurich As one of the most famous pop stars in Turkey and a defining figure in Southwest Asia, EDIS is about to take his first big step into Europe. Born in London and raised in Izmir, Edis Görgülü is now a household name from Istanbul to the Gulf, thanks to a billion YouTube views, several number-one hits, and significant awards, including the Best Male Artist award at the 'Golden Butterfly Awards'. As the cover star of Vogue Turkey, he is one of the most influential pop artists in the region. His 2021 single 'Martılar' became one of the most streamed songs of the year in Turkey. The album 'Bachi-Bouzouk', released in 2025, has further expanded his reach across the region, and his arena concerts in Istanbul and beyond have long attracted an audience that extends far beyond Turkey's borders. Just last summer, he performed at Dua Lipa's Sunny Hill Festival. Turkish artists are reaching a global audience on an unprecedented scale, and international streaming numbers have skyrocketed in the past decade. As music streaming continues to break down language barriers, non-English music is more exportable than ever. The question is no longer whether a Turkish pop artist can make it globally, but who will do it next and when. EDIS is the answer that is most likely to happen. This European tour through some of the best mid-sized venues on the continent is one of those rare opportunities to jump on the bandwagon early. In November, the audience will no longer speak exclusively Turkish. The music itself needs no translation. Contributors: Edis
