Description

With his last novel Durcheinandertal, Friedrich Dürrenmatt created a visionary grotesque in 1989. In a remote valley, the most diverse characters get caught in a web of greed, power games, and coincidences until all order falls apart. Laughter and terror lie close together.
This literary explosion of ideas forms the basis for an atmospheric text-music montage, in which language and sounds interrupt each other, sometimes intrusive, sometimes gently vying for attention, or occasionally disagreeing.
Together with the narrator Daniel Fueter, the pianist Vera Kappeler, and the drummer Peter Conradin Zumthor, the reading leads to this imaginary place where Dürrenmatt once again casts a clear-sighted and biting look at his Switzerland and the world.
