Through World and Time - Music in Advent

Description

Advent is a time of pause – a threshold between expectation and fulfillment, between the past and the present. In music, this special mood has been kept alive for centuries: composers from various countries and eras have captured their hopes, longings, and faith in tones.
Our concert invites you on a musical journey through world and time. From baroque soundscapes – for example, by Antonio Vivaldi – to romantic and modern Advent and Christmas melodies, a wide arc is spanned. Traditional tunes from different cultural backgrounds meet contemporary compositions and make familiar melodies appear in a new light.
Thus, the past and the present, distance and closeness, the foreign and the familiar are connected. May this music lead the audience out of everyday life for an evening, open spaces of calm, and prepare them for the mystery of Christmas. Christmas concert with the Tägerwilen Choir (conducted by Wolfgang Feucht) and the Divertimento Orchestra Kreuzlingen-Konstanz (conducted by Oleksandr Chugai).
