Duo Praxedis with Cello

Description

The origin of Duo Praxedis dates back to 1996, when they were asked to perform Bach's Double Concerto in the arrangement of harp and piano with orchestra. From 2010, the collaboration intensified. The mother-daughter duo performed under the name Duo Praxedis and gives about 40 concerts each year in Switzerland and abroad, thus attracting the interest of the international press.

Brigitte Vinzens performed several years ago with harpist Praxedis Hug-Rütti in duo and trio with flute or, as in 2020, in a quartet with flute and pan flute, then still in the Effretikon chapel.

The Duo Praxedis, harpist Praxedis Hug-Rütti and pianist Praxedis Geneviève Hug, have been enchanting audiences for years.
The mission of the duo is the renaissance of the once popular duo formation harp & piano, which flourished from about 1780 to around 1915.
To recall these sounds, they have been regularly and successfully giving concerts in Europe and the USA since 2010.

Brigitte Vinzens, cello
Learned watchmaker rhabilleuse. Then she studied piano with Klaus Wolters and cello with Susanne Basler-Novsak at the Winterthur Conservatory. After further studies with Wolfgang Bogner, Daniel Grosgurin, Rama Jucker and completing the diploma with Angela Schwartz Mead, she taught at the music schools in Uzwil and Winterthur.
She was active as a substitute in various professional orchestras such as the Basel Symphony Orchestra and the Musikkollegium Winterthur Orchestra. As a soloist and chamber musician, she mainly performs in Switzerland.
In addition, she cared for the Winterthur Watch Museum as a conservator for many years.

General Information

The concert takes place in the Evangelical Reformed Church Community Center in Effretikon. The Duo Praxedis, consisting of harp and piano, has been performing regularly in Europe and the USA since 2010. For this event, cellist Brigitte Vinzens will participate as a guest.
