Door opening: 7:30 PM / Start: 8:00 PM BEST OF! A musical New Year's Eve program with humor, comedic and absurd ideas. The two cellists with master and soloist diplomas have gained experience in the orchestral pits of the Bavarian State Opera Munich and the Zurich Opera. In search of advancement opportunities, they found a way from the pit to the stage with their Cello Comedy. Since 2007, they have been delighting audiences with lots of music, humor, comedic talent, and absurd ideas. Inspired by the example of master cellist Jacques Offenbach, to entertain with classical music, the two developed the idea of a stage program with lots of cello music and a fitting story as a common thread together with author Charles Lewinsky and director Dominique Müller. Since then, the two cellists have not only performed on small and large stages but also see themselves as music mediators, designing and performing family and school concerts for the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra since 2013 among others. In 2023, they realized a project for the Lucerne Festival for the first time and in 2024 for Abu Dhabi Classics. Duo Calva presents "Two Cellos for a Hallelujah" at the Kleine Theater Alte Oele in Thun. The two cellists combine classical music with comedic acts and have been entertaining audiences since 2007. Door opens at 7:30 PM, the show starts at 8:00 PM.
