Dreaming Turtles

Description

What if the era of humanity on this planet were over and instead turtles – slow, friendly, ancient – populated the Earth and the seas? Would they dream of those strange primates once called humans, who had their chance in this world and failed so miserably?
In the music theater performance "Dreaming Turtles," the internationally renowned Finnish performance group Oblivia and the Basel ensemble for experimental music KlangLab transform into dreaming, floating, dancing, and singing turtles.
With minimalist means and the great questions of humanity, "Dreaming Turtles" creates a world where some of that serenity and playfulness returns, which was last found on Earth before humans took the stage – and which may return when they are gone.
Yet in the dreamy, imaginative way of life of the turtles lies a glimmer of hope for humanity: the possibility and promise of a coexistence based on community and kindness. Contributors and additional information:
