Description
Under the label DKSJ, the jazz departments of the five Swiss music universities come together. Each year, different joint projects are implemented - one of these projects is the DKSJ All Stars Project. For the 2026 edition, the universities have invited the renowned pianist and singer Olivia Trummer. On the occasion of her 20th album anniversary, she will rearrange some of her most original, catchy, intimate, and demanding compositions under the motto «SONGBOOK». Two students from each university will be selected to form a temporary orchestra that will rehearse for two intensive days under their direction before embarking on a tour with five concerts in Lucerne, Zurich, Lausanne, Bern, and Basel. With her program «SONGBOOK», Olivia Trummer opens her entire oeuvre to new interpretations, perspectives, and collaborations. After concerts with various ensembles in Germany, Denmark, and Italy, she is now experiencing her «SONGBOOK» with the DKSJ All Star Project for the first time in Switzerland. The instrumental and vocal richness of the ensemble allows her music to blossom in a completely new way. Timeless music that touches the soul. Olivia Trummer has already shared the stage with Eric Clapton, Bobby McFerrin, the SWR Bigband, and Kurt Rosenwinkel, with whom she toured extensively and worldwide as a member of his “Caipi” band. She has performed in more than 20 countries, including prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Ronnie Scott's, Birdland Jazz Club New York, Teatro La Fenice, Blue Note Tokyo, and Beijing, as well as festivals like Jazzfest London, Umbria Jazz, Montreux Jazz Festival, Jazzfest Bonn, Vancouver International Jazz Festival, and others.
