The Kunsthalle Basel welcomes The Most Beautiful Swiss Books 2025 traveling exhibition 2026 The Federal Office of Culture (BAK) awards each year in the competition The Most Beautiful Swiss Books the most remarkable achievements in the field of editorial design to promote the quality of Swiss production. In 2026, 17 works from 2025 were selected from a total of 388 submissions on the recommendation of an international jury chaired by Sereina Rothenberger and composed of Mathias Clottu, Veronica Ditting, Josse Pyl, and Marco Walser. The evaluation criteria focused on graphic and typographic design, print and binding quality, and material selection. Starting in June, a traveling exhibition will tour Switzerland and about twenty international cities in Europe, America, and Asia. Accompanying the competition, the Jan-Tschichold Prize will be awarded to an individual, group, or institution whose achievements in Swiss editorial design are noteworthy. This year, the prize goes to the French-Swiss duo Coline Sunier & Charles Mazé. A selection of the awarded publications will be available at the Kunsthalle Basel bookstore.
