May 23, 1863. The Hamburg geology professor Otto Steinbrock discovers in the ancient Icelandic book of his student Alexander von Humboldt a yellowed parchment with mysterious characters and apparently incredible content: "Descend into the crater of the Sneffels Jökull and you will reach the center of the Earth..." Incredible!! And yet he is convinced by Alexander to undertake this dangerous adventure together. What awaits the two on their journey, you can experience! Descend into the Rübeländer stalactite cave, because our "Journey to the Center of the Earth" begins right here: deep underground. Come and help make the seemingly impossible possible! Notes on the event - Free seating for the performance. - Admission approx. 20 minutes before - Duration approx. 60 minutes - The temperature in the Baumannshöhle is a constant 8-9°C. - Please bring warm clothing and/or seat cushions for the performance. - The Goethe Hall of the Baumannshöhle is accessible via several steps – not barrier-free! - Photography and filming in the cave are not permitted!
