Description
The "Moldau" is the most famous work of the Czech composer Friedrich Smetana (1824–1884). The renowned symphonic poem is part of his six-part cycle My Homeland, which pays musical tribute to his homeland Bohemia. Together with Marko Simsa, the young audience follows the course of the Moldau and discovers the stories Friedrich Smetana tells through his music. Using his musical picture book The Moldau and selected audio samples, it becomes tangible step by step how the composer transformed landscapes, people, and events into sounds. From the river's sources to Prague, we accompany the water on its journey and encounter fairies, proud castles, and knights. We listen to rural wedding music and hunting noises, experience rushing rapids, and enjoy the calm, gentle sounds of the night. A concert that transports children and adults alike into the world of music and imagination. About the author: Marko Simsa lives in Vienna and has been inspiring young audiences with classical music for 40 years. Through concerts, books, and CDs, he makes music for children lively and tangible.
