Imagine you are in the year 79 AD in Pompeii. Suddenly, Vesuvius erupts with deafening noise, spewing a huge column of ash and stones into the sky. Within hours, a glowing rain covers the streets, houses, and temples, while the inhabitants desperately try to escape. Glowing clouds pour over the city, destroying everything in their path and burying Pompeii under several meters of ash and volcanic rock. In just a few hours, a thriving city disappears beneath the rubble, preserving the houses, objects, and traces of life of its inhabitants for almost two millennia. Alongside information panels and a selection of original historical objects from that time, as well as faithful reproductions of finds discovered in Pompeii (sculptures, glassware, household items, and medical devices), visitors are immersed in the streets of the city thanks to a 360° projection room (700 m² of projected images), experiencing the daily life of its residents up to the last moments before and after the eruption of Vesuvius. In another hall, visitors find themselves in the middle of the Colosseum, witnessing a gladiator fight and a sea battle from the arena — a unique virtual reality experience while seated. General Information

The exhibition "The Last Days of Pompeii" offers a unique insight into the lives of Pompeii's inhabitants before the eruption of Vesuvius. Visitors can immerse themselves in Roman history through interactive elements and historical objects and experience the dramatic events of 79 AD up close.
