Between sparkling coral reefs and mysteriously dark depths, the little mermaid dreams of a world beyond the water – of light, freedom, and great love. But every dream requires courage, and every happiness has its price. The music makes her longing perceptible, tender and floating, then stirred up like a storm on the open sea. Narrator Beate Bachman guides with a warm voice through the fairy tale, combining words and sound into an impressive experience. The orchestra shifts between fine, mysterious tones and dramatically rising waves, making the story come alive with every note.
