Description
Unter- and Oberrieslingen (connected by a deep-seated enmity for decades) share a cemetery and a church. A long-standing feud exists between the two villages. The ongoing hostility is clearly reflected in the Häberle family (Oberrieslingen) and Rossbauer family (Unterrieslingen). A pothole at the border, which neither community wants to repair, fuels old resentment. Oma Häberle dies in a tragic accident. Further conflict is stirred by a wealthy American who wants to buy the church. Since there are forbidden romantic relationships among the young people of both villages, the offer does not remain secret for long. While they sense quick money in Oberrieslingen, signs of storm are brewing in Unterrieslingen. Is a happy ending still possible for Klara Häberle and young pig farmer Peter Rossbauer? Ulrike Grote's comedy from 2012 was a huge success in cinemas. Lovingly, it satirizes the love-hate relationship of a community bound by fate. The Badische Landesbühne turns it into a wonderful folk theater with Baden dialect and an ironic wink!
