Description

A successful Netflix series could be made about the Swiss watch industry. Innovation and passion, but also politics, intrigue, fraud, and crime have never been absent in the last century. We explore part of this dynamic history with Bettina Hahnloser. She is an economist, journalist, author, and editor of «Der Uhrenpatron und das Ende einer Ära». As the granddaughter of Rudolf Schild-Comtesse, the long-time patron of the traditional Grenchner watchmakers Eterna and ETA, she has examined not only the economic and political developments but also personal entanglements and power struggles within the industry. To complement this, we will showcase our historical watch movements from that era, including watches with movements by A. Schild from Grenchen.
