Description

Court day in Huisum. Judge Adam must hear the case of Eve's broken jug. On the day of the trial, Marthe Rull Ruprecht accuses in court. He broke a jug in the room of her daughter Eve, his fiancée, during the night. The exhausted judge Adam, heavily marked by wounds, finds the matter bothersome. But his superior, Judicial Councilor Walter, forces him to hear the case. While Eve persistently remains silent, Adam tries to postpone the matter as a triviality. Soon, not only Judicial Councilor Walter questions whether Judge Adam knows more than he seems? The broken jug is a grotesque struggle to avoid the truth. Here, obstinacy meets arbitrariness, stubbornness confronts pedantic caution. And it shows male abuse of power in its purest form.
