The 17-year-old Nicolas is no longer an carefree child. Growing up, the final year at high school, his parents' separation – everything is too much for him. He skips school and is aggressive. The move from his overwhelmed mother to his father Pierre is supposed to bring order back to the son's mind and restore his zest for life. But a failed suicide attempt shows: Nicolas's problems are more serious than assumed. Director Holger Hauer and stage/costume designer Anja Furthmann bring Florian Zeller's drama (German translation by Annette and Paul Bäcker) to life as an emotionally profound production.
