Description
Asteroid B612 is a peculiar celestial body: the sun sets there 43 times, while only a single day passes on Earth. It is inhabited by a sheep, a few baobab trees, a rose with four thorns – and once also by the little prince, until he fled from the capricious rose. Since then, he travels from planet to planet. Most of them are small, and their inhabitants are lonely and strange. Alone on Earth, the little prince encounters a variety of beings: animals, plants, humans. But with each encounter, his longing for those he left behind and the 43 sunsets of asteroid B612 grows. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's fantastic story has been translated into 618 languages and dialects to date. The author himself did not live to see this legendary success. A year after the book's publication, he died in a crash during a reconnaissance flight over the Bay of Marseille. With THE LITTLE PRINCE, he left a timeless homage to connection. Director Antú Romero Nunes, known for his imaginative and playful theater works, brings it to the Pfauenbühne for an interstellar journey for all generations. And he returns to Schauspielhaus Zürich thirteen years after his production ALICE IN WONDERLAND. ♥ Supported by Zürcher Kantonalbank COOPERATION & DOUBLE PREMIERE In cooperation with Theater Basel: The premiere of "Kleine Prinzen", also directed by Antú Romero Nunes, takes place (almost) simultaneously on November 14th at 7:30 PM at Theater Basel.
