Description

Two completely contrasting people are forced by external circumstances to spend an entire day together. Livius Reimer and the excitable Lea von Armin have to share the last available rental car after their flight was canceled to get from Munich to Berlin. While the adjusted teacher and aspiring father wants to save his marriage, despite being betrayed by his wife Yvonne, Lea's plans change from one minute to the next, who in Livius's eyes is the embodiment of a "Tofu Terrorist" cliché. No wonder, the lively journalist was actually traveling to an interview with the "Last Day Men," a group of people living as if every day were their last.
Inspired by the idea, Lea persuades Livius to follow this example and to view the road trip through the lens of finiteness. Unaware of the chaos his agreement will unleash, Livius agrees to the experiment. To the audience's delight, a bizarre adventure follows another.
Lea asks a complete stranger in a retirement home for forgiveness — which is mistakenly interpreted by Livius as a grandson scam, forcing both to flee. At a rest stop, Lea rescues a dozen pigs and exchanges the brand-new rental car for a rusty old clunker, continuing their journey in a battered vehicle. Together, they accommodate a group of homeless people in a luxury hotel in Leipzig, for which Livius spends all his savings. After all, he doesn't want to think about tomorrow.
In Dessau-Roßlau, they involuntarily experience the unconventional massage methods of a Chechen wellness guru and meet Lea's husband in a Hamburg pizzeria, who is not pleased to see his bride again after she left him sitting at the wedding.
And as if all this wasn't turbulent enough, the smartphone discredits travel impressions to Yvonne at the worst moments — just hours before the marriage counseling is supposed to begin... In his novel "The First Last Day," star author Sebastian Fitzek also raises very existential questions about meaning, obligation, individuality, and conformity. In the end, an unexpected twist awaits the audience, making them see the world with different eyes. A touching story about truth, overcoming, love, and friendship with lovable characters and quirky humor. A production by Konzertdirektion Landgraf and Tournee-Theater Thepiskarren
