Strange Kind Of Women returns to the Czech Republic after great success. They will perform their only concert on January 30, 2027, at the Sono Center in Brno. The best female tribute band in the world playing the works of Deep Purple will once again present themselves to the Czech audience after enthusiastic reception. This time only in Brno, in the iconic Sono Center hall, renowned for its top-notch acoustics and one of the best concert venues in the country. Deep Purple is considered by many to be one of the most innovative and successful rock bands of all time. They are also regarded as an almost unimitable band – with a distinctive sound, energy, and musical virtuosity that has influenced generations of rock musicians. However, seven years ago, this apparent unimitability was challenged. A purely female formation appeared on the European scene, capable of transferring the magic of Deep Purple to the stage with a lively, dynamic, and unconstrained female expression. Behind the creation of Strange Kind Of Women is Eliana Cargnelutti, a leader and guitarist from Udine near Venice. She came up with the idea of creating a purely female tribute band for Deep Purple and had a clear vision of the musicians who could turn her shining vision into reality from the start. Thus, the energetic lineup of Strange Kind Of Women was formed: Eliana Cargnelutti on guitar, vocalist Alteria from Milan known from Virgin Radio, bassist Paola Zadra, Hammond organ player Margherita Gruden living in France, and outstanding drummer Chiara Cotugno. The name Strange Kind Of Women is inspired by one of Deep Purple's most famous songs. The band debuted live in January 2019 and within a few months began receiving offers to perform from all over the world. Great recognition came the same year when Ian Paice, the legendary drummer of Deep Purple and the last active founding member of the band, played with Strange Kind Of Women. After the joint performance, he praised them: “Playing with them is really fun. They do a great job, have a great sound, and put everything into it. I really enjoyed playing with them.” The Brno concert will feature the most famous hits of Deep Purple, including songs like Child In Time, Smoke On The Water, Strange Kind Of Woman, Highway Star, and Space Truckin’. The audience can look forward to a bombastic, dynamic sound true to the spirit of the original, but also charged with the unique energy of this exceptional female formation. The two-hour set will also bring other songs from the Ian Gillan era, such as Speed King and Into The Fire, as well as classics from the later period like Lay Down Stay Down, Mistreated, and the electrifying Burn.
