Description
The Archaeological Center Olomouc invites you on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 10 AM to 5 PM for the Day of Archaeology. Visitors will learn about the latest archaeological discoveries, from the longhouses of the first farmers from the research along the D55 route to prehistoric wells from Kojetín and the story of a coffee bean from the 19th century and KAFE 1866. Normally inaccessible laboratories, a drawing room, and other specialized workplaces will also be opened. The program will be complemented by an exhibition of finds, demonstrations of 3D scanning, a tasting of KAFE 1866 prepared in field conditions, grain milling, the making of prehistoric bracelets, worksheets, and competition stations for children and adults. Participants who visit all stations of the Day of Archaeology will receive a souvenir gift. The event in Olomouc is jointly organized by the Archaeological Center Olomouc, the Regional Museum in Olomouc, and the Museum Archaeology Center. Admission is free.
