In the spring, he released his debut album, *Planeta Pluto*. David Herzig – an experienced musician, producer and sound experimentalist who straddles the boundaries of electronic, acoustic and singer-songwriter music. He is a member of the band Bert & Friends, has collaborated for many years with Arleta, Never Sol and MC Gey, and has contributed to stage music for productions at the National Theatre, the Dejvice Theatre and the Švanda Theatre. The recording blends electronic elements, acoustic instruments and the poetic style of the Czech ‘tramp’ tradition. It opens up the distinctive musical world of Herzig’s ‘spacestern’, in which a meditative tempo, sound design and a distinctive atmosphere meet with reflections on the world of childhood and adolescence. The album was created gradually between 2023 and 2025. A pivotal moment for Herzig came when he lost all his work-in-progress material following a laptop crash, which forced him to start afresh without the support of his previous demos. On the album *Planeta Pluto*, whilst he did not abandon electronic music entirely, he significantly slowed down the tempo and gave ample space to guitars, which he layered alongside so-called field recordings. His main inspiration was tramp music, to which he has had a connection since childhood. Just as he combines tramp music with electronic elements, he blends the theme of space travel with Western motifs, a mixture he himself calls ‘spacestern’. T
