That was quite a strange week! - thought Mr. Taschenbier while walking: On Sunday the sun was shining, well, that's quite common. On Monday his old friend Mr. Mon visited. Tuesday he had duty and Wednesday was midweek, everything seemed normal. But on Thursday a powerful thunderstorm rolled in and it thundered. Thursday thunder! On Friday the office key was missing and Mr. Taschenbier had a day off. Friday off! And today is Saturday! Mr. Taschenbier didn't know what a Sams is. But when he encounters one that day, he recognizes it immediately: a nose like a pig's snout, red spiky hair, small mischievous eyes, and the whole face full of blue bruises - it can only be a Sams! Sitting happily singing, it sits in front of Mr. Taschenbier on the street. And because Mr. Taschenbier is the only one who recognizes it, the Sams decides that he should be his dad from now on. The Sams no longer leaves his side. Mr. Taschenbier is a very anxious person, avoids conflict as much as possible, and fears people who scold him. A Sams is pretty much the last thing he needs. But when he realizes this, it's already too late, the Sams has made itself comfortable in his apartment and is arguing with his landlady. And the coming week will surely be even funnier than the last for Mr. Taschenbier... Paul Maar, one of Germany's most successful children's book authors, has already published twelve Sams stories. The JTB now shows the first of these stories, 'A Week Full of Saturdays', in the popular musical version by the renowned composer Rainer Bielfeldt. Based on the book by Paul Maar.
