The Phantom rages as a disfigured, feared, and internally torn being in the catacombs of the Paris Opera. Christine is torn between her youthful love, Count Raoul de Chagny, and her mysterious mentor, with whose help her voice gains enchanting beauty. “I know whom I love, now I must know whom I must hate.” A sentence that sums up the delicate love triangle of the world-famous story of "The Phantom of the Opera." Since 2010, the musical production by Sasson/Sautter has captivated audiences on the stages of Europe. The forced break during the Corona pandemic was creatively used to completely revise the production musically. For this, the British successful musician Ryan Martin was won, who composed and arranged music for Cirque du Soleil, America’s Got Talent, Netflix, BBC, ABC, CBS, and Fox USA, among others. Besides the joy of acting of the large stage ensemble and the breathtaking music, the spectacular stage design also fascinates. It lives both from the effective, three-dimensional video projections of the internationally celebrated multimedia artist Daniel Stryjecki and from the magnificent stage elements designed and built by Michael Scott of the Metropolitan Opera in New York. Now the production has been awarded the "Golden Sun 2023" by Sonnenklar.TV for the quality of the performers, the music, and the spectacular stage design as the best musical.
