Poetry of Darkness The annual series ‹Dark Matter› features short pieces by Marco Goecke, guiding like fixed stars through his extensive work. Premiered by some of the most renowned ensembles in the world, the program combines signature pieces from different creative phases. Alongside audience favorites ‹Äffi› and ‹Nachtmerrie›, central works such as ‹Tué›, ‹Midnight Raga›, and ‹All Long Dem Day› are on the program, in which Ballet Basel impressively showcases the virtuosity and precision of Goecke's movement language. Additionally, the evening includes the deeply personal solo ‹Infant Spirit› dedicated to Pina Bausch, a touching homage to the great dance theater innovator and a reflection on the fragility and longing of one's own childhood. An exclusive world premiere by Marco Goecke also takes place, continuing his story with Ballet Basel. Between reunion and rediscovery, ‹Dark Matter II› unfolds a panorama of Marco Goecke's seemingly inexhaustible creativity.
