Description
During his seven decades of creative work, the diversity of forms and colors of nature was an inexhaustible source of inspiration for Cuno Amiet and a place for bold formal experiments. From the radiant spring to the subtle and silent winter, he modulated his palette, renewed his painterly expression, and captured the variations of light and matter. Whether he paints the bloom, the harvest, or the snow, he records the metamorphoses of nature with a repeatedly reinvented freedom. The nature he observes and interprets almost daily from his garden in Oschwand becomes for him an equally intimate and universal language. This exhibition thus offers the opportunity to shed new light on an artist who is still underrepresented in Western Switzerland. The Musée d’art de Pully, which is open to his garden and faces the lake, provides a sensitive setting for these light-filled landscapes.
