Description

CROSSOVER promotes dialogue between choreographic languages, generations, and aesthetics through a collective creative process. For this unique program, (LA)HORDE brings together three pairs of choreographers to stage a series of exciting artistic encounters. At the heart of CROSSOVER is the intertwining of two already existing works: fragments of iconic pieces, whose respective choreographers are invited to explore through dialogue and discussion the intersections where their aesthetics meet. This process creates a third dimension in which the works overlap without dissolving.
Rafaela Sahyoun (CRUSH) × Fran Diaz (THE MASS ORNAMENT): Both CRUSH and THE MASS ORNAMENT explore how bodies relate through friction, trust, or coordination. Armin Hokmi × Cecilia Bengolea: Armin Hokmi presents an excerpt from SHIRAZ, a hypnotic and gender-fluid homage to the Shiraz Arts Festival in Iran. In dialogue with this, Cecilia Bengolea presents an excerpt from TWERK, which she revised for CROSSOVER. (LA)HORDE × Angelin Preljocaj: (LA)HORDE will combine one of their choreographic motifs with an excerpt from Angelin Preljocaj's LE PARC. This collaboration unites the artistic visions of two significant institutions coexisting in the same region. (LA)HORDE are performing at the Kurtheater for the first time. They recently gained attention through their collaboration with the Ruhrtriennale, where they choreographed a production with Sandra Hüller. Currently, (LA)HORDE are responsible for the breathtaking choreography of the live show of the Spanish world star Rosalía.
