Concert: OCD and Hihihahaholky

Obyvatelé cihlového domu (OCD) combine classical piano, female vocals, and the energy of punk, progressive rock, and metal into an intense and genre-defying sound. Their music can be simultaneously tender, jazzily playful, and aggressively urgent, often featuring unexpected rhythmic shifts and a strong concert energy. In their original Czech lyrics, the band addresses the stories of marginalized individuals, horror themes, and visions of a crumbling civilization—with a dark atmosphere but also black humor. Kopecký, Petra Svojška HIHIHAHAHOLKY is an experimental rap trio formed by frontwomen and performers Alena Novotná and Štěpánka Todorová, along with music producer and live DJ Matěj Šíma aka Taťka Maťka. Their work is characterized by ironically naive humor that reflects current social and personal themes. The girls rap in Czech, their lyrics are playful, experimenting with words and carried away by bittersweet flavors. Their signature is a performative and quirky expression. They often perform in one of their "pinky winky girly" alter egos. The music of Taťka Maťka features original harmonic beats tailored to a spectrum ranging from jazz to hard trap beats. The entire group is united by their studies in acting at DAMU in the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre, where the band was formed in 2022. The kickoff of their work was the debut album Pinky Winky Life, which playfully explores the girl world and reflects everyday life issues. The album was released in December 2023. A music video for the track Špatnej vliv, which became a hit from the first album, was released in autumn 2023. In February 2025, they released their second album titled Dobrodružství Jessicy a Angie. The album is conceptual, guiding through the story of two main heroines and delving deeper into feminist issues, while also not shying away from everyday struggles and humorous situations closely tied to the heroines. Hihihahaholky also have experience creating music and lyrics for the theatrical production Fakani at A Studio Rubín, directed by the artistic director of the X10 theater, Ondřej Štefaňák, which premiered in February 2025. The trio also created music for the short student film Moje domovina directed by Sarah Slavíčková, in which both representatives of Hihihahaholky also played the main roles. The single for the film titled Moje doma was released in November 2024 in collaboration with the rap duo P/\ST. A music video for the single was released in February 2025.
