Description

Thanks to the CVT method, you will learn to: sing without hoarseness, produce regular and healthy sounds, extend your tessitura, improve your breath, perfect your pitch. The CVT pedagogy is concrete and effective. CVT vocal coaches work with positive feedback and focus on the progress of learners. Their own taste and personal style are secondary; the goal is to support singers in creating their own sound and desired style. Workshop content In the morning, you will discover how the voice works and get an overview of the CVT singing method. You will perform group exercises and clarify important questions. In the afternoon, you will deepen your skills through concrete exercises and singing examples – first all together in a group, then during individual sessions. During these sessions, active participants will have the opportunity to work concretely on personally brought songs and difficult passages. Non-active participants will, as far as possible, be integrated into the exercises. Morning session (10:00 AM – 1:00 PM) You will learn and practice the fundamental principles of singing: The "Twang" The respiratory support (Support) Avoiding lip tensions and the forward movement of the lower jaw You will discover and experiment with the 4 CVT modes (Neutral, Curbing, Overdrive, Edge). You will also cover the basics of sound color and vocal effects. Afternoon session (2:00 PM – 5:30 PM) The afternoon will be dedicated to applying the theory learned. You will start in a group to review the basic principles, modes, and sound colors through concrete exercises and singing examples. Subsequently, active participants will benefit from a 15 to 20-minute individual lesson. They will bring songs or choral pieces with difficult passages to work on with the workshop leader. The group will learn by observing and will, as far as possible, have the opportunity to participate in the exercises. Target audience This workshop is suitable for singers of all levels and musical genres. It is open to adults and adolescents from 16 years old. Participants can register as active or passive participants. Active participants will have the opportunity in the afternoon to work on their personal themes during an individual lesson with the instructor. Passive participants can take part in all group activities. The only prerequisite is the joy of singing and interest in the "Complete Vocal Technique" singing method. CVT stands for "Complete Vocal Technique" and is a vocal technique method originating from Copenhagen. Its founder, Cathrine Sadolin, is among the most renowned vocal researchers worldwide. The latest research results, combined with her own experience as a professional singer, continually feed the development of CVT. The Complete Vocal Institute (CVI) is now the largest European institute dedicated to professional and semi-professional singers. CVT is style-independent and postulates that everyone can learn to sing and produce all sounds in a healthy way. The method is based on anatomical, physiological, and physical foundations. By classifying all sounds that can be produced by the human voice within a clear and logical system, it offers a precise language to discuss technique and artistic expression. This facilitates communication between the coach and the singer, simplifying the learning process and enabling quick and concrete results. Workshop facilitator Marion Knoth is an authorized CVT vocal coach. She directs choirs and yodel groups, teaches singing and vocal training in individual and group courses, offers CVT and yodel workshops in the German-speaking area, and organizes multi-day yodel hikes.
