Through CVT, we learn • to sing without becoming hoarse • to produce even, healthy tones • to achieve a greater vocal range • to have a longer breath • to improve intonation The CVT pedagogy is concrete and effective. CVT Vocal Coaches work with positive feedback and focus on learning success. Their own taste and style are irrelevant; singers are supported in their own desired sound and style. Workshop content In the morning, we learn how the voice works and get an overview of the CVT singing method. We do group exercises and clarify important questions. In the afternoon, we deepen what we've learned with specific exercises and singing examples – first all together in the group, then in individual sessions. Active participants have the opportunity to work concretely on their own songs and difficult passages. Non-active participants are included in exercises whenever possible. Morning (10:00 – 13:00) We learn and practice the basic principles of singing: • Twang • Support / breath support • Avoiding lip tension and pushing the lower jaw forward We learn about the 4 CVT modes and try them out (Neutral, Curbing, Overdrive, Edge). We learn about basic sound color and voice effects. Afternoon (14:00 – 17:30) In the afternoon, the focus is on translating the theoretical knowledge into practice. We start in the group and review the basic principles, modes, and sound colors with concrete exercises and singing examples. Afterwards, active participants receive a 15 to 20-minute individual lesson. They bring songs or choral literature with difficult passages and work on them with the workshop leader. The group learns by observing and, whenever possible, has the opportunity to participate in exercises. Target group The workshop is suitable for singers of all levels and genres. It is aimed at adults and teenagers from 16 years old. Participants can register as active or passive. Active participants have the opportunity in the afternoon to work on their personal topics with the workshop leader in an individual lesson. Passive participants may participate in all group activities. Prerequisite is the joy of singing and interest in the "Complete Vocal Technique" method. The language of instruction is German. CVT stands for Complete Vocal Technique and is a singing technique method from Copenhagen. Cathrine Sadolin, the founder, is among the world's leading voice researchers. The latest research, combined with her own experience as a professional singer, continuously feeds into the development of CVT. The Complete Vocal Institute (CVI) is now the largest European institute for professional and semi-professional singers. CVT is style-independent and states that everyone can learn to sing and produce all tones in a healthy way. The method is based on anatomical, physiological, and physical principles. By categorizing all sounds that can be produced with the human voice into a clear, logical system, a precise language is created to discuss technique and artistic expression. This makes communication between coach and singer easy, which in turn simplifies learning the technique. Rapid and concrete successes are achieved. Workshop leader Marion Knoth is an authorized CVT Vocal Coach. She leads singing and yodel circles, teaches singing and voice training in individual and group lessons, conducts CVT and yodel workshops in the German-speaking area, and organizes multi-day yodel hikes.
