"Le Grand Bal" develops like a current: Eight dancers get into a rhythm that intensifies, condenses, and becomes infectious. What starts as inner restlessness turns into a collective ecstasy. Bodies break out, find each other, and drive each other on. The energy is physical and direct. And it is not limited to the stage. It is possible that this energy also spills over to the audience. The two hip-hop choreographers from France, Souhail Marchiche and Mehdi Meghari, capture the pulse of the times with their Compagnie Dyptik. Since 2012, they have effortlessly mixed various dance styles into an energetic cocktail; their works are characterized by rhythm, community, and a sense of how energy transfers in space. In "Le Grand Bal," the company explores the phenomenon of dance fever – dance as a social and unifying force. "Le Grand Bal" has already thrilled a wide audience across Europe.
