Description

On this evening, stage host Alex Krieg presents a special project, Jogalo, in Portuguese: 'play it!'. Joining him is Johannes Jogalo Rachel on guitar, Buzuq, Bansitar (a hybrid of banjo and sitar), other string instruments, and vocals. Jogalo is complemented, supported, and inspired by the Funky Fellas Band, consisting of Alex Krieg on keyboards and John Crosson on drums. They will also surprise with a 'Special Guest' on vocals. Together, they create songs from blues, surf, pop, funk, and jazz, with sound sequences from India, Africa, and the Orient. Soundscapes reminiscent of Pink Floyd alternate with film sequences from an Italian western. In the tension of our globalized world, the fusion of these musical cultures is a natural process for Jogalo and the Funky Fellas.
