As soon as the College Jazzband marches through the hall to the sound of the Bourbon Street Parade and the music on stage picks up a swing tempo, the audience feels transported right into the French Quarter of New Orleans. Bandleader King Henry creates a perfect soundscape, taking his ten soloists and fans back to a hot era. Since the 1970s, the 'King Henrys' have filled venues and created a lively atmosphere. This year, the band celebrates its 60th anniversary. The delightful repertoire of timeless New Orleans jazz is now performed in a new formation, promising an evening full of New Orleans classics and soulful blues, with special highlights such as Joe Louis improvising simultaneously with two trumpets or the powerful Sonja Priehn captivating the audience with Gin House Blues.
