Cinema Staziun Lavin - FROM INSIDE OUT – The Architecture of Peter Zumthor

Description

FROM INSIDE OUT – The Architecture of Peter Zumthor
CH 2026 / Directed by: Wim Wenders The new film by Wim Wenders highlights the work of one of the most influential contemporary architects, Peter Zumthor, winner of the Pritzker Prize. This immersive 3D approach presents his architecture from the perspective of visitors, users, residents, or craftsmen. Viewers discover the buildings as if they could walk through them themselves, allowing them to understand how architecture influences our perception of the world and shapes our lives. With the short film Notes From A Day In The Life Of An Architect, director Wim Wenders and architect Peter Zumthor realized their first joint project at the invitation of David Chipperfield. It turned out that this film was just the prelude to something much larger. They found that they had a similar approach to work: they develop things from the inside out. The desire to embark on a cinematic project together only grew. Thus, in this documentary, Wim Wenders delves into the work of Peter Zumthor, focusing mainly on two future architectural projects by Zumthor: the extension of the Beyeler Foundation in Riehen, near Basel, and the construction of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
