Description

The Codex Buranus, the mysterious collection of medieval songs and plays from the Benediktbeuern monastery, continues to fascinate to this day. It gained worldwide fame through Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana” (1936).
Peter Schindler has set selected texts to new music and, with a small instrumental ensemble, has given them a fresh, colorful musical language. The result is an exciting dialogue between the Middle Ages and the present—presented here as its Swiss premiere. An impressive choral work reimagined.
