Few places on our planet have as many endemic species as the Pacific New Caledonia. Martin Jírovec visited this country this spring and will share his fresh experiences to support the Ledax Home Hospice on October 6. The islands, two hours flight from Brisbane, Australia, are definitely among the larger ones in the South Pacific. You can encounter kilometers of deserted beaches, dense rainforests, majestic waterfalls, and rugged mountains. On the other hand, meeting a tourist here is quite rare. At most, you might see a 'mainland Frenchman' who might think that the islands belong to him, at least partially. Unlike neighboring Australia, there are no killer crocodiles or poisonous creatures here, and the local people are overflowing with kindness. So, it’s quite a nice destination for a two-week exploration, one would say. If it weren't for one thing. The proceeds from the lecture go to support the activities of the Ledax Home Hospice.
