Saturday, May 2, 2026, 8:00 PM Scenario Halle Cats & Breakkies Cats & Breakkies, are four young Berliners with jazz in their hearts and techno in their genes. In a classic band setup – electric guitar, bass, drums, keys – they always rock an instrumental DJ live set on stages, floors, and festivals. Always danceable, with courage for elegiac melodies, opulent breaks, and rich surfaces, they impress mainly through the precision in tension building and the sonic breadth of their arrangements. After their debut album organic electro, released in 2015 in collaboration with David August, they were nominated in 2016 for the "Bremer Jazzpreis 2016" in the category "Jazz & Electronics." Numerous performances followed at festivals and clubs, including Kantine am Berghain, Tallinn Music Festival, and Festival Berlistanbul. With spectral in 2018, they raised the bar once again. In ten tracks, which together form three independent short sets, they intricately weave sonic and rhythmic layers, carve out thick disco slabs, deliver perfect build-up and drop dramaturgy – and, above all, create a lot of tension in a relaxed manner. Cats & Breakkies is elegant, straightforward live techno from Berlin.
