Annette says
Annette wants to leave, she wants to go to the city. But at home, no one understands her. Therefore, she turns her back on the paternal farm, seeks her path alone, meets like-minded people, opponents, and repeatedly François. The supposed pioneer of special education, who pretends to be Annette's supporter, ultimately only represents his own interests. To distract herself, as Annette says, she marries the Sicilian guest worker Concetto and finds in him a quiet, reliable friend. Step by step, she achieves her goals, becomes a kindergarten teacher, primary school teacher, special educator, school principal - until after a final fight against the windmills of the school authorities, she quits angrily. The price is high, but who wants to, Annette tells herself, at almost sixty to take off again? But that's exactly what she does. After Concetto's death, Annette travels to America and finds an almost cinematic late happiness. Franco Supino, born in 1965 in Solothurn, grew up bilingual as a child of Italian parents. He studied German and Romance studies in Zurich and Florence and completed his studies with a thesis on Günter Eich. Since 2007, he has been a lecturer at the University of Teacher Education Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW). He is married, father of two children, and lives in Solothurn. Supino is co-initiator of Büro Bichsel and president of the Mazzini Foundation Grenchen. Franco Supino has received several awards for his work, including the 2023 Art Prize of the Canton of Solothurn. Moderation: Britta Spichiger
