Encounter at the Table allows visitors to touch, move, and engage with the objects of the exhibition through action and conversation. Wayne Switzer, head of the Material Archive at Sitterwerk, and Christina Frey explore thought processes based on the arrangement of objects. They investigate the relationship between us, the objects, and the world. What does it mean to collect, arrange, and relate? Who chooses and based on which criteria? And what happens when we dismantle these arrangements, systems, and logics? We warmly invite you to join the conversation and pick up the objects. We look forward to exploring relationships, objects, and contexts together. Wayne Switzer has been working at the Sitterwerk Foundation since January 2024. As head of the Material Archive, he is responsible for curating, mentoring, and material research—activities that lie at the intersection of applied craft and artistic practice. His experience, both as an architect and in academia, has focused on circular construction methods and material culture—topics that also shape his recent curatorial exhibitions "Before and After Sand" (2024) and "Schwarz ≠ Schwarz: Schwarzfärben im Wandel" (2026). Professionally, he has worked several years in New York, Basel, and the Middle East region, where he taught architecture and construction.
