Description

Thomas Hirschhorn, born in Bern, grew up in Davos, attended the University of Design and Art in Zurich, and gained international recognition for his installations from the mid-1990s. He has lived and worked in Paris since 1984. Under the title "My Atlas," Thomas Hirschhorn presents an overview of his work so far at the Bündner Kunstmuseum: The work My Atlas (2025) is a personal interpretation of the concept of an atlas, inspired by Aby Warburg's "Mnemosyne Atlas." It serves as a connecting element between the various works of the artist from the early 1980s to the present and shows his diverse relationships and his artistic, social, and political relevance. The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to gain deeper insight into the complexity of Hirschhorn's work.
The exhibition is curated by Stephan Kunz. An exhibition of the Helga de Alvear Museum in collaboration with the Bündner Kunstmuseum Chur. Originally curated by Sandra Guimarãres.
