Between Moravia and Austria, Europe in the mid-17th century: After the Thirty Years' War, large parts of the continent lie in ruins. Famines, plagues, and seemingly endless battles shape life, especially in the east of the Holy Roman Empire. Cities are devastated, livelihoods destroyed, and yet from this grim reality arises a musical cosmos of surprising brilliance and creative abundance. The Stylus Fantasticus breaks all boundaries: free, unpredictable, and full of bold ideas. Between ethereal sound poetry and wild dance, between subtle wit, surprising turns, and virtuosic ecstasy, unfolds a music that bows to no rules and seemingly strives for the infinite – "bound to nothing." At the center stands Ignazio Albertini, a figure as colorful as he is enigmatic. His life is preserved only in fragments, his name barely known today. Yet the little we know about his life reads like a crime novel, ultimately ending with his murder in Vienna on September 22, 1685. The Ensemble Rýnský brings Albertini's music and that of his colleagues, contemporaries, companions, and peers to life, allowing the listeners' imagination to fill this space and weave the story of an unjustly forgotten genius.
