Tired of the party scene, the 35-year-old spends long hours on the phone with her mother back home in Casablanca. This gives rise to an intense exchange that brings repressed memories and long-kept secrets to light, whilst Bouchra begins writing a semi-autobiographical film… This unusual animated film, which is also the personal story of co-director Meriem Bennani, moves elegantly between different time periods and geographical boundaries.
