Bonvillars: Didactic Truffle Field

Description

Thanks to the association "1ère Région Truffière de Suisse" and the Compagnons de la Truffe Vaudoise, the first didactic truffle plantation in Europe was established. An idyllic place at the foot of the vineyards of Bonvillars, 14 km from Yverdon-les-Bains. The 6,000 m² site offers a magnificent view of Lake Neuchâtel. The truffle plantation includes 12 tree species and more than 240 trees, planted in 2016 after successful mycorrhization. The tour is led by an expert in truffle cultivation, a member of one of the truffle-related associations and a contact person for all questions about this fascinating and mysterious fungus. Upon prior request and reservation, they can also be conducted in English, German, and Italian. * Additional visits can be organized upon request during the truffle season from September to January. * Equipment: Good footwear and clothing suitable for weather conditions. The tour is also conducted in bad weather. * Note: Dogs, even if leashed, are not allowed. * Participants: maximum 20 persons (minimum 6 persons). * Online registration and payment are required at least 72 hours before the walk. * The development of truffles largely depends on natural and meteorological elements. In case of truffle shortage and to maintain the quality of the service, the organizers reserve the right to cancel the walk.
